SAFETEE supports the in-house HSEQ department in safety consulting, provides the safety and health coordinator under the Construction Site Ordinance and supports fire and explosion protection.

SAFETEE during construction of a biorefinery

The project

UPM Kymmene, originally from paper and pulp production, has developed into a broad-based bioeconomy company. In Leuna a biorefinery is being built that processes wood into biochemicals, raw materials for responsible plastics. During the roughly two-year construction period, up to 1,500 employees of various subcontractors work on site.

Our task

Four SAFETEE safety consultants are on site for the entire period and support the client's HSEQ department. We provide the coordinator under the Construction Site Ordinance, have installed SAFETEE performance monitoring with safety performance indices, train fire safety assistants and support the explosion protection document with safety engineering expertise. Later on, the safety documentation for laboratories, pilot plant and quality assurance follows.

Through continuous communication with stakeholders at all levels, an effective safety concept emerges that permanently secures the legal compliance of the site under the Occupational Safety Act and the Construction Site Ordinance. The client can draw on the know-how of the SAFETEE back office and the staff on site at any time.
